Human Computer Interaction, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) is a broad area of ​​research and practice. It is the study of the interactions between people (users) and computers.

 

It appeared in the early eighties of the last century, when it began as a field of specialization within computer science, embracing cognitive and behavioral sciences and several other scientific fields. It is defined as a branch of science concerned with designing, scrutinizing, editing, and making systems for human use and studying all issues related to everything that interferes with those matters.

 

The user comes at the forefront of this integrated circuit so that the aforementioned elements are reflected in whatever the user's work does.

 

The reason for the spread of this science and a large number of researchers in it is due to its late appearance decades after the technical revolution. Whereat first the use of technology was limited to specialists in information technology and a few amateurs, then the biggest challenge became the manufacture of software, game platforms, and electronic hardware that fit the needs of all users regardless of their differences and activities.

The emergence of (HCI)

Human interaction with computers was limited until the late 1970s to IT experts as well as amateurs who devoted all of their time to this, but that changed after the emergence of personal computers at a later time.

 

These personal computers have made all human beings potential computer users, with the personal software they contain (such as text editors and interactive games) and personal software platforms (operating systems, programming languages, and "hardware").

 

It also shed light on the weaknesses and shortcomings of computer equipment in terms of ease of use for those who wish to use the computer as a tool only.

 

Computer uses are not limited to personal use, but rather extend to other uses, as previously mentioned, and this confirms that a person or group can use a computing system, for example, the computing systems in force in major companies and factories.

 

This use must create a state of interaction and harmony between the machine and the human being so that this is reflected in the level of performance of individuals.

 

The challenge of personal computers became evident in time for this, as in the late 1970s the broad project of cognitive science emerged, which included cognitive psychology, artificial intelligence, linguistics, cognitive anthropology, and the philosophy of mind. philosophy of mind).

 

Cognitive engineering was part of that program and was intended to illustrate methodological and scientific applications.

 

Thus, when personal computers demonstrated their need for HCI, cognitive science provided the competencies, skills, and concepts that would address this need by combining science and engineering, and thus HCI was one of the first examples applied to cognitive engineering.

 

 HCI and the visual aspect

A visual aspect is a form of visual communication that represents information relevant to a specific task. This simply enables the user to notice the information and then interact with it.

 

The main purpose of this is the appropriate graphic representation of the multiple information and to ensure that the displayed visual representation is fulfilled and that the various relationships between the information are discovered and analyzed.

 

Moreover, communicating knowledge is not an easy task, because the visual aspect of knowledge includes visible things that enhance the transfer of knowledge through communication.

 

In this case, a set of procedures must be taken to convey the information and provide the user with appropriate feedback.
