Multimedia devices are electronic media devices used to store and experience multimedia content. Multimedia is distinguished from mixed media in fine arts, for example through the inclusion of sound, which has a wider range, and in the early years of multimedia, the term rich media was. The term multimedia

The term multimedia was coined by singer and artist Bob Goldstein to promote the July 1966 opening for his presentation in Southampton Long Island, and Goldstein was probably aware of an American artist named Dick Higgins, who two years earlier had discussed a new approach to making art called Intermedia.

On August 10, 1966, Richard Albarino borrowed from Variety the terminology, writing Brainchild of song scribe-comic Bob Washington Square Goldstein, the newest visual multimedia music for the first time as Discusic, and two years later in 1968, the term multimedia was renamed to describe a work Political advisor, David Sawyer.

The importance of multimedia

The German Language Association Gesellschaft für Deutsche Sprache recognized the importance of multimedia and its ubiquitous presence in the 1990s and awarded it the title of the German word of the year in 1995, and the institute summarized its reasoning by saying that multimedia has become a central word in the wonderful world of new media, and in common use, multimedia refers to the media group That is communicated electronically including video, still images, audio, and text in an interactively accessible manner.

Much of the content on the web today falls within this definition as millions understand it, and some computers that were marketed in the 1990s were called multimedia computers because they incorporated a CD-ROM drive that allowed several hundreds of megabytes of video, image, and audio data to be delivered. The era is an increase in the production of multimedia educational CDs.
